natural slate tile design
Dressing up the outdoors
Challenge: The client's patio was a basic slab or concrete. After years of use, it was stained, dirty and just plain boring. They wanted some type of visual interest, texture and color infused in the small space to make it feel regal and welcoming.
Solution: I gave them exactly what they asked for. The natural slate we used was not only beautiful and textural, but it had strong colors that blended well with the home and the surroundings while not overpowering the area. I defined a center detail with smaller tiles and offset the area on a bias to give it a throw rug appearance. Now the area is inviting and draws the eye toward it.
