Custom Criss-Cross Cable Lighting

Drop the drop florescent lighting already!

Challenge: Like all the builder spec homes prior to the late 90s, this kitchen had the drop-down florescent lighting with the plastic covers. It made the space seem closed in and was just sheer ugly!

Solution: I designed a cable system that would bring the eye upward while opening up the vertical space. I started by ripping the old lights out but kept the soffits to create a truly unique and functional lighting system. This cable lighting not only provided overall light but task lighting with the individual spots focused on key work areas. With the addition of a few new can lights, under cabinet lighting and some beautiful pendants over the peninsula - this kitchen lighting works for any mood.
